Born and raised in Toronto, country artist Owen Barney has been playing guitar since he was just seven years old, influenced by country heavy-hitters Eric Church, Dean Brody, and Jason Aldean. He has played shows around Toronto from the age of 14, and has spent the last few years honing his skills as a performer.

Lanrick Bennett Jr.

Every once in a while Gregg and I sit down for a chat about Toronto – The city we love…well, the city we believe can be better.

Our guest this week loves Toronto. Alot. So much so that he and his son took the TTC to all 100 public libraries in this city. And they lived to talk about it. He’s a former Toronto City Council candidate. And I’m sure not for the last time.

Please Welcome! to the show, Lanrick Bennett Jr.

Nicole Simone

Today’s episode is a reunion of sorts.

You see, one of my earliest interactions with Gregg Tilston was being interviewed by him for a job with Flight Centre. After I turned him down I told him one of my goals was to have him as a client. And while it didn’t happen while he was with Flight Centre he did sponsor an event I led: MusicConnectTO.

And today’s guest actually performed at that event as Late July. My next guest has been writing songs and performing for well over a decade. She is also the founder of the charity, Redemption Paws that has rescued hundreds and hundreds of dogs from the ravages of climate change and hurricanes.

Please Welcome to the Cadillac Fairview Toronto Eaton Centre studio, Nicole Simone.

Sammy Younan

After our summer vacation Gregg Tilston and I got back in studio for a chat with Girth Radio founder Sammy Younan.

We discussed the rise and fall (but not dead!) of Girth Radio’s longtime home at the Pacific Junction Hotel, what’s coming up at the Toronto International Film Festival, movie spoilers, and the all too important topic of urinal etiquette.

Thanks to CF Toronto Eaton Centre for hosting us in their pop-up studio!

My Favourite Song Part Three

Welcome to the third installment of the award-winning series (who are we kidding?), My Favourite Song.

This week is special. It features one of our favourite live acts, SATE. Gregg Tilston and I sat down with SATE earlier this spring after seeing her tear up the dance floor of the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.

We asked her what her favourite song is. We should have known better. SATE shared with us almost a dozen songs. Here’s this week’s episode. We hope you enjoy!

This week’s guest is singer, songwriter SATE
