Nicole Simone

Today’s episode is a reunion of sorts.

You see, one of my earliest interactions with Gregg Tilston was being interviewed by him for a job with Flight Centre. After I turned him down I told him one of my goals was to have him as a client. And while it didn’t happen while he was with Flight Centre he did sponsor an event I led: MusicConnectTO.

And today’s guest actually performed at that event as Late July. My next guest has been writing songs and performing for well over a decade. She is also the founder of the charity, Redemption Paws that has rescued hundreds and hundreds of dogs from the ravages of climate change and hurricanes.

Please Welcome to the Cadillac Fairview Toronto Eaton Centre studio, Nicole Simone.

My Favourite Song Part Three

Welcome to the third installment of the award-winning series (who are we kidding?), My Favourite Song.

This week is special. It features one of our favourite live acts, SATE. Gregg Tilston and I sat down with SATE earlier this spring after seeing her tear up the dance floor of the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.

We asked her what her favourite song is. We should have known better. SATE shared with us almost a dozen songs. Here’s this week’s episode. We hope you enjoy!

This week’s guest is singer, songwriter SATE

My Favourite Song Part Two

We continue our summer series that features music some of our guests really like.  And maybe, just maybe, you’ll discover some new artists and music, too!

As many of you (and Gregg. Especially Gregg!) enjoy local, live music this summer we thought we’d also ask some of your favourite guests what their favourite song is.

This week’s guests include:

Actress, Director and Producer Samantha Wan

Singer Patricia O’Callaghan

Singer LU KALA

Writer, Director and Producer Rama Rau

My Favourite Song Part One

Both Gregg Tilston and I love music. And there is no better season to enjoy music than in the summer: At an outdoor summer festival, concert, out on the patio or even while just sitting outside in your local park.

So while we all enjoy the summer we thought we’d ask some of our guests what their favourite songs are.

This week’s guests include:

Ajay Massey, lead singer of UN Jefferson

Chris Overholt, CEO of OverActive Media

Michael Thompson, Toronto city councillor

Mark Howard

“Listen Up! Recording Music with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, U2, REM, The Tragically Hip, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Waits…” is an album-by-album account of my next guest’s work with these iconic artists and others.

He has spent more than two decades recording, mixing, engineering and producing some of my favourite albums and concerts.

It is both an honour and a pleasure to welcome to the show Grammy award-winning producer, Mark Howard.

Tom Wilson

When my next guest walked on stage the crowd at The Great Hall in Toronto popped. A giant of a man with long, dark, wavy hair and wearing a dark, long coat came on stage and read from his book. This was March 29, 2018.

I had no clue who this person was. Why did he read from a book?

My next guest was raised in Hamilton, ON. He is an award-winning musician, singer, songwriter, an author, painter and visual artist.

The liner notes in his book, “Beautiful Scars”, reads, “Along the way he became a father and a grandfather, battled demons and addiction, and he waited, hoping for the truth to emerge. and when it did, it would sweep across the St. Lawrence River to the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake in Quebec , on to the heights of the Manhattan skyline.” I now understood why he read from his book.

Please Welcome to the show, Tom Wilson.
